Hello! My name is Gracie Breland-Harris, and I am the creator of the blog and consulting services, The Caffeinated Historian.

I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with an MLIS degree and a Graduate Certificate in Archives and Special Collections. As a child, I’ve always been fascinated with history and the stories found within it. Specifically, I remember walking with my grandfather to his blueberry bushes while talking about past generals of World War II and quirky history like the origin of the thistle plant of Scotland. With this background, I’ve dedicated my life to assisting and providing access to history and knowledge for others. A few of these can be seen through my work with institutions such as the Mississippi Music Museum, the Georgia Historical Society, and the Mississippi Department of Archives & History.
I believe that history plays a vital role in all of our lives, and the education of it and its many twists and turns is just as important. That being said, I created The Caffeinated Historian as a guide and resource for those interested in finding ways to make history more accessible, either in the classroom, museum, archive or for your own personal enjoyment. But enough about me, let’s talk about you!
My services are not solely for historical sites and institutions, but for anyone who needs assistance within the historical community. Whether you need to enhance your museum experience, create accessible collections and programs, or simply need a second pair of hands to help your project grow, I am your girl, and I will help you bring history and its voices to the light.
Welcome to my little corner of the world. I cannot wait to work with you!
